The Friars' Club

About The Friars' Club
We are the only Club or Society that specialises in the work of Charles Hamilton, best known to the world as Frank Richards, the creator of Billy Bunter, the fat boy of Greyfriars.

The club has flourished for almost thirty years.

We hold meetings three or four times a year - usually around London - although we have members spread across, not only the United Kingdom, but the World. Any member wishing to host a meeting is always welcome so to do. (In fact, this is encouraged!) These are friendly, and sociable, allowing members to discuss the works of Hamilton and all Children's writers and to exchange views and collectibles. There is usually a talk given by one of the experts on various aspects of Children's Literature.

The Friars' Chronicles, the club journal is published quarterly. Next year, 2010, we celebrate the publication of out 125th Issue of the Chronicles with a special number.

Over the past two years, we have expanded the scope of The Friars'' Chronicles to encompass all aspects of Children's Literature. As a result, we are welcoming more new members than ever.
