Bunter Books Published by Charles

| Picture Post carried an article about Frank
Richards in 1946. Charles Skilton contacted Charles Hamilton to commission
a series of Bunter Books. Once the Copyright issue had been settled (Fleetway
Press owned it), Skilton persuaded Hamilton to accept royalties, instead
of his usual fee per1,000 words (Skilton could not afford to pay!). The
books were a great success, and when it transpired that Skilton could not
obtain sufficient paper supplies,
Cassell's took over the enterprise. |
