All those interested in Charles Hamilton — the man and his works — have been longing for the day when we should see the biography we have heard about for so long. At last, oh, day worthy to be marked with a white stone, that day approaches! I have had the privilege and pleasure of reading the manuscript: fascinating, detailed, and, above all, well-written. At nearly 300 pages of typescript, it cannot be called short. However, like few other books, once started, I could not put it down. The well written narrative takes us from Hamilton’s birth to his death. His aspirations, fears, problems, and beliefs are all explored in a sensitive, intimate, yet critical way.

At last the production of this wonderful biography is now complete. With fascinating extra data in the footnotes, bibliographical appendices, and a comprehensive index, plus a myriad of illustrations, this book promises all that could be hoped for.

As a further incentive to purchase (as if one was needed!) there is the last ever Greyfriars story written for the Magnet, but not published due to War time paper shortages.

As Mary Cadogan says in the Introduction:

“Because of her long and close relationship with her uncle, and her appreciation of his literary achievements, Una Hamilton Wright is uniquely able to fill for us many of the gaps in our knowledge of his life and works. The Other Side of the Moon [this was the original title but changed when it was realised that another biography had been published with the same title] provides fresh insights not only into his relationships and activities but into the rich creativeness of his mind and imagination."

Published 27th September 2006 this book is presented as an attractive  high quality gloss paper-back volume with stitched and glued spine, 300 pages 9" by 6".
